Keto Blue Cheese Dressing

Added sugar is always a problem with store-bought dressings. They can be packed with hidden sugars you wouldn’t have expected, which can really ratchet up the carb count. That’s why I always make my own dressing at home – and this blue cheese dressing is one of my favorites.

Making your own dressing allows you to regulate what goes in it. You can be sure that there are no sneaky carbs that can really wreck your keto progress.

For this recipe, we use mayonnaise, buttermilk, sour cream, blue cheese and white wine vinegar to make the perfect blend of flavors. The dressing has less than one gram of carbs per serving.

It’s perfect on top of salads, like this Flank Steak Salad with Blue Cheese Dressing, or a typical side salad for dinner. We also love using this dressing as a dip for veggies – it makes a quick and tasty snack.

Ingredients You’ll Need

This dressing comes out creamy and delicious. Try mixing up a batch.

  • Blue cheese – Crumbles. You can break them into small pieces if you don’t like big chunks in your dressing.
  • Mayonnaise
  • Buttermilk
  • Sour cream
  • White wine vinegar – You could substitute another kind of vinegar if you don’t have white wine vinegar. Just watch the sugar content.
  • Garlic powder
  • Salt and black pepper – to taste.

How to Make Blue Cheese Dressing

Mix all the ingredients together in a small mixing bowl. Stir well to combine, making sure to fully incorporate the blue cheese. Some of the cheese should be mashed in, while some pieces remain whole.

Vegan mayonnaise can be used in this dressing. We’ve used many different types of mayonnaise with great success.
