Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon cooking oil
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon chili powder mild to hot
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon granulated garlic powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 cup green bell pepper diced and seeds removed
  • 1/2 cup onion diced
  • 1/2 cup celery diced
  • 24 ounce can crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 cup water
  • Shredded cheese sour cream, chives for garnish

Instructions

  • Heat the oil in a large pot over medium heat, then add the turkey. Crumble the turkey with a spatula as it cooks. Once the turkey is browned, mix in the chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir well.
  • Add in the peppers, onion, and celery. Cook for an additional 2 minutes on low heat, to soften the veggies.
  • Add in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, and water. Stir well. Cover and simmer on low heat for 15-30 minutes.
  • Serve with your favorite toppings.
